Rockwell Automation Approves Name Change at Annual Shareowners Meeting

    MILWAUKEE--Feb. 6, 2002--Rockwell Automation Chairman and CEO Don H. Davis reviewed the company's first quarter results and highlighted its Global Manufacturing Solutions business in remarks made today at the company's annual shareowners meeting. Shareowners elected Kenneth F. Yontz to the board of directors, re-elected two directors to new terms and approved the company's name change to Rockwell Automation.
    Yontz is chairman of the board of Apogent Technologies Inc. and Sybron Dental Specialties, Inc. (both are successor companies to Sybron International).
    Yontz, 57, served as a group vice president and executive vice president of Allen-Bradley from 1980 - 1986. He left Allen-Bradley to lead Sybron as chairman, president and CEO, where he served from 1986 - 2000. Yontz is a director of Viasystems Group, Inc., and serves on a number of civic and community organization boards.
    Apogent Technologies manufactures and markets laboratory life science products including those used in clinical diagnostic and biomedical areas. Sybron Dental Specialties manufactures dental sundry supplies and orthodontic appliances.
    Yontz and the two re-elected directors will serve terms that expire at the annual meeting in 2005. They are:

    Bruce M. Rockwell, Vice Chairman, First of Michigan Division of Fahnestock & Co. Inc. Rockwell, a director since 1969, is Chairman of the Technology, Environmental and Social Responsibility Committee and is a member of the Audit and Compensation and Management Development Committees of the Board.

    Joseph F. Toot, Jr., Retired President and CEO, The Timken Co. Toot, a director since 1977, is a member of the Compensation and Management Development and Board Composition Committees of the Board.
