September 2005 Auto Sales - Another Detroit Tale of Woe - Enough Already!

Publishers Note: This editorial was originally published in October 2005 three years ago...but it seems that nothing has changed in fact it has gotten worse. All the while the same failed management is still making excuses and ru(i)ning the U.S.s largest auto companies...what gives?

Snide's Remarks: This "GM and Ford Sales Down, Domestic and Asian and European Rival's Up" headline, has sadly become a monthly occurence.

Where is the American ingenuity and vision that will lead to bold designs and bold initiatives that may be able to lift our tired old car companies out of the dung and save the one time world's auto leaders?

Their strategy of selling (or not) unwanted product at lower prices may be a stop-gap measure, but who at the declin(ed)ing car companies has the talent and leadership skills to step up and deliver desireable cars and trucks at a price American and Canadian buyers will gladly pay?

The jury is still out but DCX seems to have turned the corner by capturing the imagination and checkbooks of the American car buyer.

Where are the other strong car-guys, are they only in Asia and Europe?

Hey GM Execs...Hey Ford Execs...you better get some help. Hey GM Board and Hey Ford Board...HAVE THE BALLS TO DO YOUR JOBS, "What's Good For GM IS Good For America" so do what you have to...my grandchildren's way of life depends on it.
