FedEx President Frederick W. Smith to Testify on Capitol Hill, Accompanied by New All-Electric Delivery Vehicle
Frederick W. Smith, Chairman, President and CEO of FedEx Corporation, co-Chairman of the Energy Security Leadership Council, and a member of the Electrification Coalition, will testify Wednesday morning at a hearing of the House Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment. Smith will speak to the dangers posed by our nation's dependence on petroleum, and the Electrification Coalition's detailed plan to end that threat through the electrification of the ground transportation system. The hearing will take place at 9:30 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
Parked outside the hearing room will be one of FedEx's first all-electric delivery vehicles, which has just completed a trip down historic Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles.
