SYDNEY – Jun 14, 2010: Hyundai Motor Company Australia is proud to support the 'Football Australia Live Site presented by Optus' programmes in Melbourne and Brisbane during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Located in the heart of the city, the ‘Live Sites' will bring the thrill and passion of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to football fans of the greater Melbourne and Brisbane regions, with all Qantas Socceroo first group stage matches presented live on giant screens.

The live sites located at Birrarung Marr in Melbourne, and Reddacliff Place in Brisbane, will broadcast the matches live and uninterrupted. This will enable fans to cheer on our Qantas Socceroos as they take on the best in the world, and to enjoy the exclusive Hyundai 2010 FIFA World Cup footage.

A fun festival atmosphere will be created with the Live Sites, which open two hours before each match and will be hosted by local radio personalities. Fans will have the chance to win fantastic prizes and giveaways from the sponsors. Local Hyundai A-League teams will also be onsite to interact with the Fans.

Hyundai will be running a ‘Fan of the Match’ competition, searching for the most passionate supporter in the audience at each match. Four lucky fans selected from the crowd will have 30 seconds to display to the judges why they are the most passionate fan by chanting, dancing, singing, cheering or just being dressed to support their team. Each winner will receive a fantastic Sony Cybershot digital camera. Contestants will have the chance to relive their moment, with photos from the competition final placed on www.ilovefootball.com.au after each event.

“Hyundai is committed to supporting football in Australia through its ongoing sponsorship of the Hyundai A-League and support for the Qantas Socceroos,” said Oliver Mann, Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s Marketing Director. “Hyundai is proud to be involved in the development of the sport with our Goals for Grassroots programme, and now with the ‘Live Sites’ we have the opportunity to bring the excitement of 2010 FIFA World Cup to football fans around the country.”

The 'Football Australia Live Site presented by Optus' locations will be alcohol free, providing the perfect place for fans to come together in a safe, enjoyable and controlled environment.
