IRL, Indy 500: ABC, ESPN to Feature 13+ Hours of Live Indy Qualifying

INDIANAPOLIS-ABC Sports and ESPN will combine to present 13? hours of live TV coverage of this weekend's qualifying for the 83rd Indianapolis 500.

PPG Pole Qualifying will begin on ESPN at noon (EDT) Saturday with a 3-hour live show. ABC will pickup the qualifying action at 4 p.m. (EDT) for a two-hour show, and espn2 will do an Indy 500 Pole Day wrap-up show. Sunday's action begins at noon (EDT) on espn2 with a live four-hour show.

ABC will cover the last two hours of "Bubble Day" qualifying. A live one-hour "Bubble Day" wrap-up show will run from 6-7 p.m. on espn2. An enhanced on-board telemetry system, along with a new graphics package, will debut on this weekend's broadcasts.

Bob Jenkins, Johnny Rutherford and Tom Sneva will cover all the qualifying action from the broadcast booth this weekend for ABC and ESPN, while Jon Beekhus and Gary Gerould will report from the pits.
