Visteon Radiators Reach NASCAR's Victory Lane

    DEARBORN, Mich., June 1 -- NASCAR's top drivers are finding
their way to victory lane, based, in part, on their use of new high-
performance radiators supplied by Visteon Automotive Systems.
    The most recent winner, Jeff Burton, cruised to his third win of the 1999
NASCAR Winston Cup season Sunday in the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway
in Charlotte, NC.  Burton's engine was cooled by a Visteon radiator, which
recorded its first win in stock car racing's major league.
    Visteon radiators have been gradually saturating the Winston Cup scene
this season.  Sunday's results proved that the radiators have made a
difference as Mark Martin (third place) and Dale Jarrett (fifth place) also
ran with Visteon radiators.
    "The results clearly show that our radiators not only are achieving
widespread acceptance in the Winston Cup Series, but also produce winning
results," said Bill Klehm, president of Visteon Climate Control Systems, Ltd.
"We're proud that our technology is assisting these drivers reach the winner's
circle."
    On May 8, Visteon radiators claimed its first victory in the NASCAR Busch
Grand National series when Elton Sawyer took the checkered flag in the New
Hampshire 200.
    Visteon supplies its high-performance radiator cores to C&R Racing of
Indianapolis, Ind.  C&R design and distribute custom racing radiators to the
majority of racing teams in the Winston Cup.
    The Visteon radiator core has a more efficient tube and fin design,
according to Chris Paulsen, owner of C&R Racing.  This design has resulted in
outstanding performance during testing this season.
    "In addition to a design that offers better fin integrity, the Visteon
core is extremely high quality," he added.  "And perhaps most important, we've
been able to tailor Visteon cores to particular race tracks by changing the
core size (height, width or thickness) and/or fin density.  We can now offer a
radiator for a short track, intermediate track or super speedway.  By being
able to tailor the radiator to a particular track and to a particular racing
team's needs, we allow the racers to gain further efficiencies."

    Snyder named IRL's top crew chief
    On May 27, Visteon sponsored the second annual True Grit award which
honors the top crew chief in the Indy Racing League.  This year's winner was
Owen Snyder, Chief Mechanic for Team Cheever.
    Snyder accepted the award during Carburetion Day festivities at the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Paulsen presented the $10,000 award to Snyder,
who has spent the past 11 years of his 18-year career with Team Cheever.
    Visteon will also sponsor NASCAR's True Grit Award which will be presented
prior to the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis on August 7.
