Mountaineer adds a myriad of new safety technologies, including a further enhancement of advanced passive restraints, the Personal Safety System™ and standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™.

Mountaineer's new three-valve 4.6-liter V8 engine provides more power and improved efficiency, 292 horsepower. That power is put to the road through a new six-speed transmission.
