Recalled:2000 Freightliner

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today released a list of auto safety recalls announced in November and December 2000 and urged consumers to have the problems fixed promptly

Dates of Manufacture: April 1999 - March 2000

Defect: On certain RV chassis, the valve stem on the rear inner tire could rub against the wheel and develop a leak. A loss of air on the inner tire could overload the outer tire if undetected.

Remedy: Dealers will install a valve stem extension stabilizer. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification will begin Feb. 20, 2001. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Freightliner at 1-800-547-0712.
