Goodyear.Com Provides Ford Owners With Tire Replacement Information

AKRON, Ohio, May 25 Owners of Ford Motor Co. vehicles who
have been affected by this week's recall of 13 million Firestone tires can
find information on tire safety as well as on Ford-approved replacements at
http://www.goodyear.com .

The website operated by the world's largest tiremaker includes a listing
of all Ford and Mercury vehicles involved in the recall and detailed
information about the Goodyear Wrangler tires authorized for use on them.

"Ford has authorized 49 specific tires as replacements for the recalled
Firestones, more than half of these are Goodyear Wranglers," said John
Polhemus, president of Goodyear's North American Tire business unit. "More
Goodyears are authorized replacements than the other five tire brands
combined.

"Up to four different Wrangler tires have been authorized for a given Ford
vehicle. The list on our Web site makes it easy for consumers who want to
replace their Firestones with quality Goodyear tires to compare features and
benefits and select the Wrangler that best fits their driving needs."

The Goodyear Web site also allows consumers to download "The Complete Tire
Safety Guide," an eight-page brochure with information about proper tire care
and maintenance. The site includes links to the Rubber Manufacturers
Association's tire safety Web site and to the automaker's Web site,
http://www.ford.com .

"As a tire manufacturer committed to provide safe, high-quality tires,
Goodyear regrets the fact that this situation has arisen," said Polhemus. "At
the same time, we are prepared to do whatever is necessary to help consumers
get the right tires on their vehicles as quickly as possible. To this end, we
are urgently implementing plans to ramp up production to meet customer needs."

"In the first Firestone recall, Goodyear associates worked extremely hard
to produce millions of tires. In fact, our company produced more than
3 million tires to aid in that recall effort," said Polhemus. "You can expect
the same type of dedication by Goodyear workers once more. Goodyear is
prepared to do whatever is necessary to help. Again, we will work around the
clock to assure everyone seeking a set of Goodyear tires for replacement can
get one."
