Jaguar Delivers First X-Type Sedan to Charity Auction Winner
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 1 Jerry and Tawny Sanders today took delivery of their new 2002 Jaguar X-Type, the first U.S. retail delivery of Jaguar's new under-$30,000 sport sedan. During Jaguar's Tribute to Style event in March, the Sanders were the highest bidders on the one-of-a-kind "Rodeo Red" X-Type. All proceeds from the star-studded evening went to support the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Arts and Education Fund. "It's a real thrill to be able to work with an organization as worthy as the Entertainment Industry Foundation," said Scott McKee, event marketing manager for Jaguar North America. "We thank the Sanders for being the highest bidders for the X-Type, and congratulate them on being the first customers in the U.S. to drive the new Jaguar home." March's Jaguar's Tribute to Style paid tribute to "The Red Carpet as Hollywood's Fashion Runway," with cocktails, fantasy auctions, dinner and a concert starring Latin superstar Marc Anthony. Since its inception in 1996, the event has raised more than $2 million for charity. This year, a variety of education and arts initiatives, including the California State Summer School for the Arts, Teach For America, and the Museum of Contemporary Art were the beneficiaries. The Entertainment Industry Foundation is the most successful charitable umbrella organization in Hollywood and has raised more than $170 million for a variety of causes.
