Land Rover North America, Inc. Reports 200,000th Vehicle Sale
Since Inception; Discovery Has Best August Ever
LANHAM, Md., Sept. 4 In August, Land Rover North America,
Inc. posted the 200,000th vehicle sold in North America since the company's
inception in 1986. Various retail support programs have created a greater
public awareness of the unique product attributes and lifestyle possibilities
available to Land Rover owners. Total U.S. sales came in at 2,290, a 0.7
percent decline over the year earlier period. Discovery sales were up 5
percent over August 2000, while Range Rover was off 19.2 percent.
