GM Announces New Program, Makes Purchasing a New Vehicle As Simple As "1-2-3"Detroit -- General Motors Corp. today announced its new retail marketing program that will make purchasing a vehicle as simple as "1-2-3." GM will offer $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 customer cash or APR financing rates of 1.9/2.9/3.9% (36/48/60 months) to qualified buyers on the purchase of all new 2002 model Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac-GMC cars and trucks through July 1. Saturn, Saab, HUMMER and all 2003 models are excluded from this program.
"GM and its dealers have had great success using simple marketing programs," said Bill Lovejoy, group vice president of GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. "We are very pleased with our retail sales performance this year. And the "1-2-3" program, combined with our strong lineup of innovative products, should increase our sales momentum.
"As with the 'Overdrive' program, GM will continue to send one clear and powerful message to consumers using a prominent national, regional and local marketing campaign."
The advertising for the new program will begin on Wednesday, May 1. The corporate "1-2-3" ads will continue the focus on GM's growing momentum and leadership in the marketplace. The ad campaign will include two TV spots, which will begin on May 1. Print ads will break in national newspapers on Friday May 3, followed by top 25 markets which also start on May 3. Divisional, regional, and local dealer marketing group ads will follow.
