BEDFORD, Mass.--July 23, 2002--Digimarc ID Systems, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Digimarc Corporation , announced today that the State of Florida has given notice of its intent to award the state's digital drivers license contract to Digimarc ID Systems.

    For more information, see

Under the terms of the bid and intent to award, the term of the contract would run approximately five years from the date of implementation, with an option to extend another five years.
The final award and contract are subject to a number of contingencies, including, among others, the protest allowed under state law to challenge the intent to award, the resolution of the protest by another vendor in favor of Digimarc ID Systems, and negotiation and execution of a formal contract between the state and Digimarc ID Systems. Other issues that could affect the successful closing and implementation of the contract include funding being provided by the Florida legislature, the posting of a bond, satisfactory performance, and similar contingencies.
