FORD OFFERS 5-YEAR/100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN PLAN ON 2003 FOCUS

DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 9, 2002 – Ford announced today a 5-year/ 100,000 mile powertrain coverage plan for the 2003 Focus. The new no-charge Powertrain Extended Service Plan will be transferable from one owner to the next, offering new Focus buyers both long-term peace of mind and improved resale values. The Powertrain Extended Service Plan, which includes full roadside assistance coverage, complements the 3-year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-year anti-corrosion warranty currently offered on Ford products.

“Focus is already the segment leader in terms of driving dynamics,” said Steve Lyons, president of Ford Division. “This powertrain plan makes Focus even more competitive, and it clearly demonstrates our confidence in this great product.”

The award-winning Focus, the best-selling car in the world last year, is offered in four distinct body styles: sedan, wagon, three-door hatchback and five-door hatchback. The base manufacturer’s suggested retail price for a 2003 Focus is $13,195, including destination and delivery.
