Veteran radio personality Bob Long to anchor new national call-in format

NEW YORK, Feb. 18 -- PRIMEDIA's Motor Trend Radio
has announced the arrival of a new host, Bob Long, and a new call-in audience
participation format for the popular weekend automotive program. The show,
which airs two hours each on Saturdays and Sundays on most affiliates, is
currently airing on 95 radio stations. Distributed by the Talk Radio Network,
the program is popular with listeners and advertisers, boasting a cumulative
audience of 750,000 listeners each week, and high-profile sponsors such as
Corvette, Wolverine Boots and Champion Spark Plugs.
Bob Long's name is familiar to millions of radio listeners. His passion
for both radio and automobiles dates back to his teens, when he began
collecting auto magazines (Motor Trend was a favorite). He's a veteran of
more than 20 years in the radio business, through involvement in several
national sports and sports-trivia programs. He also served as national
spokesperson for the Sears Diehard Security Battery from 2000-2002, making
appearances in national print and on radio and television media tours.
Long is overseeing Motor Trend Radio's expansion to a live format. The
program offers listener call-ins and live interviews with Motor Trend editors,
automotive personalities, and car company representatives, including renowned
designers and engineers. In addition, the program offers remote live
broadcasts from some of the most important auto events of the year.
