GM Recalls 2003 Cadillac CTS

DETROIT March 21, 2003; Dow Jones reported that General Motors Corp. is recalling about 51,000 model-year 2003 Cadillac CTS vehicles to inspect the steering shaft for a loose bolt.

In a press release Friday, the automaker said it is aware of two incidents where customers lost steering control because of the problem, but no injuries have been reported.

Of the recalled cars, about 48,000 are in the U.S. and about 3,000 in Canada. The vehicles were built between October 2001 and Feb. 2, 2003.

GM has said its policy is not to disclose the cost of recalls to the company.
