Kia to Prove Size, Space and Comfort Matter at New York Auto Show

Company Will Add New Large Sedan to U.S. Lineup

IRVINE, Calif., April 2 -- Long underrated in the American market, Kia has enjoyed record-breaking sales success by thinking big. The latest and perhaps best expression of that thinking will be unveiled during press days at the New York Auto Show, when Kia will pull the wraps off its biggest sedan ever. The Kia camp is remaining tight-lipped about the name of its all-new vehicle, but promises to show its hand in The Big Apple. The press conference will take place on April 17 at 1 p.m. at the Kia booth on the lower level of the Jacob Javits Center.

Building on the momentum of the all-new Sorento SUV launched last year, Kia fully intends to make good on its plan to offer a full line of vehicles to meet the needs and desires of a wide range of American buyers. Media professionals will learn that exceptional roominess, quietness, comfort and a long list of safety features are key ingredients in the company's new range-topping product.

"Kia is the value brand that always delivers more than you expect," said Kia Motors America President Peter M. Butterfield, "and we plan to fulfill that promise yet again with a brand new, large sedan with all the comfort, convenience and safety found in vehicles costing thousands more."

Design, in a word, will be distinctive. Kia will demonstrate that a large car doesn't have to be stodgy or boring. In fact, the company believes its new entry must stand out in the crowd with a good-sized helping of style and character. That style and character will continue inside with a well-appointed, full-featured interior that boasts a surprising amount of stretch-out room for five American adults.

While bigger is better in order to provide superior interior space, comfort, and cargo capacity, just about the only thing this new product won't have is a big price tag. Pricing has not yet been set, but Kia plans to continue its efforts to one-up its top competitors by offering more for less. More information and the new car's name will be available at show time in New York.
