Men Want Home Improvement Related Gifts And a Clean Organized Garage Tops Their List - BORING!

NEW YORK, May 20, 2003 -- While not every man is the power-tool type, most have a fond attachment to the garage. In fact, a survey conducted by Harris Interactive for GarageTek shows the gift of a newly reorganized garage makes the perfect present for any man in your life.

Twenty-nine percent of those surveyed said that garage reorganization is atop the wish list ranking it the No. 1 home improvement-related gift choice. It ranked above the exterior of the house being painted, cleaning out the rain gutters and installing a new gutter system or installing a new fence in the yard.

Give the Gift of the Garage

Half of those surveyed said the garage is the messiest room in the house. "Homeowners wrestle with a jungle of junk, wasting time looking for things that are stored in the black abyss called the garage," said Bill West, CRS and author of Your Garagenous Zone - The Complete Garage Organizer Guide. "Imagine being able to go out to the garage and actually being able to find what you are looking for without a hassle."

GarageTek makes that possible. As the leading brand in this new home improvement category of installed garage organization, GarageTek is truly a pioneer. Its nationwide network includes 60 markets in 29 states throughout the United States to meet the needs of homeowners who want more out of their garage.

As the Harris Interactive/GarageTek survey shows, homeowners are not satisfied with how they've used their garages in the past. For 28 percent of consumers, they'd like it to be better organized. Other top changes they'd like to see include: making it cleaner, being able to park their car in the garage, using it as an extra room in the house for activities such as exercise and hobbies or making it safer.

A GarageTek system can accomplish all of these goals. A typical system includes high-performance cabinets, shelving, activity racks and accessories professionally installed and designed to fit the individual needs of the customer. The system features TekPanel(TM), a patented durable thermoplastic material that offers the ultimate in flexibility due to slotwall design. While the components are securely installed, they are not permanent, and can be easily moved side to side or up and down on panels.

A GarageTek system in time for Father's Day?

The GarageTek installation process is simple and can be completed in time for Father's Day. The first step is a free design consultation with a local dealer who will help you choose the configuration and components that suit your individual needs. The dealer will then create a free, no-strings- attached 3D computer rendering of your new GarageTek design and prepare a cost estimate. Upon approval, your GarageTek system will be professionally installed, with completion typically taking 2 days.

GarageTek products are available now through authorized dealers in markets nationwide. For more information on GarageTek, call 866-664-2724 or visit www.garagetek.com .

GarageTek was incorporated in January 2000 and franchise sales began in March 2001. GarageTek is sold through authorized dealers and it is the only installed garage system sold at EXPO Design Centers across the country. GarageTek closed its first year with sales of $2 million; 2002 sales topped $6 million. By 2003, sales are forecasted to reach $18 million.
