American Suzuki U.S. Sales Remain Strong

Aerio Posts 70 Percent Gain Over May 20, 200302

BREA, Calif., June 3 -- American Suzuki Motor Corporation's (ASMC) U.S. sales remain strong with sales totaling 5,862 vehicles for the month and 25,824 vehicles for the calendar year. The two models of Suzuki's Aerio -- the sedan and SX (sport crossover) -- posted a 70 percent increase over their May 2002 sales mark, selling 1707 units.

"Recently deemed one of the 'Top 10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000' by Kelley Blue Book, the Aerio continues to notch increasingly strong sales," said Rick Suzuki, president of ASMC. "The Aerio was also recognized by the AAA Auto Guide Award in the under $15,000 category and designated a 'Best Buy' by Consumer Digest, which spurred Aerio sales, making it one of American Suzuki's top-selling models alongside the XL-7."

The XL-7 posted 2,768 sales for May. The Grand Vitara notched 910 sales for the period and the Vitara posted 458 units sold for the month.
