LA Auto Club: Members Can Now Request Roadside Assistance Online

    LOS ANGELES--June 26, 2003--A tow, a gallon of gas or a battery jump are just a click away with the Automobile Club of Southern California's new roadside assistance online.
    Members may simply visit www.aaa-calif.com and click on "Roadside Assistance Online" on the right side of the screen. When the electronic request form appears, a member may fill in and provide the required information, including location.
    When the request is submitted, a confirmation notice will quickly appear with the estimated time of arrival for the road service provider. A confirmation will also be sent to the member's e-mail address.
    "This is a another great way that members can reach us when they need help," said Lois Smith, group manager for the Auto Club's Emergency Roadside Assistance. "Members need to make sure to have their telephone line available for the Auto Club to contact them. Then, they can expect the same fast and dependable service online that they have always received," she added.
    Nearly half of all the homes in Southern California have an Auto Club membership.
    The Automobile Club of Southern California, the largest AAA affiliate, has been serving members since 1900. Today, Auto Club members benefit by the organization's roadside assistance, financial products, travel agency and trip planning services, highway and transportation safety programs, insurance products and services and automotive pricing, buying and financing programs.
