Honda To Recall Accords

TOKYO August 21, 2003; Dow Jones reported that Kyodo News said that Honda Motor Co. will recall a total of 29,494 Accord and Accord Wagon passenger cars due to a faulty engine part.

Vehicles manufactured between last October and May this year will be subject to the recall, according to a report Honda presented to the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry.

Due to faulty design of a pipe to return non-combustion gas left in the engine to the combustion chamber, the pipe may fall off and leak gas when the car is accelerated at low temperatures, Honda said, according to the report.
