BMW Cars Recalled In SK

Seoul August 21, 2003; The Korea Times reported that BMW Korea has voluntarily recalled four import models due to defects in their engines, the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said yesterday.

Engine stoppages or imbalances were found to occur in its 735i, 735Li, 745i and 745Li models caused by an error in the imbedded software program in the engine control unit.

The German carmaker will provide free checkups for the about 184 defective cars sold here from today for one and a half years through its service centers nationwide or partner centers.
