Subaru Reports Strong March Sales; Forester Records Best Ever March; Legacy Sales Up 11 Percent

CHERRY HILL, N.J., April 1 -- Subaru of America, Inc., the only car company that features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard equipment on every vehicle in its product line, today reported March sales of 17,606 units. Forester recorded a best-ever March, while Legacy also posted a double-digit gain.

"March was a strong month for Subaru, with Forester setting another all- time record," said Fred Adcock, executive vice president, Subaru of America, Inc. "Total sales and Legacy sales also marked the second-best March totals in the company's history. Enthusiasm for the brand remains strong and we anticipate momentum to continue with the launch of the totally redesigned Legacy GT Sedan and Wagon and Outback models debuting in showrooms this June."

The Legacy model line posted 8,225 units, up 11 percent from last year, while the Subaru Outback recorded strong sales of 5,860 units for the month. Subaru Forester posted the all-time best for March with 5,679 units, up 4 percent over last year. The Impreza line recorded 3,043 unit sales, while Subaru Baja recorded sales of 659 units for the month.
