Heineken USA Reinforces Its Commitment to Keeping America's Roads Safer at Austin City Limits

- Continues SAFE CALL(TM) Responsible Consumption Program at Famed Festival Extravaganza -

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Sept. 17 -- Heineken USA, the official beer sponsor of Austin City Limits, the musical extravaganza featuring the best homegrown musicians in country, blues, bluegrass, folk, rock'n'roll, soul, swing, tejano, and zydeco, taking place September 17 through September 19, is encouraging event-goers to take advantage of its unique responsible consumption program called SAFE CALL(TM). The city of Austin is expecting 200,000 people during the Austin City Limits festival and Heineken USA wants to be sure everyone gets home safely. To help meet this goal, Heineken's SAFE CALL(TM) program will be implemented. Designed to provide consumers who have had too much to drink, a toll-free and easy to remember taxi number to prevent them from driving while intoxicated, possibly injuring themselves and others.

As part of this effort, Heineken USA has partnered with 1-800-TAXICAB, North America's largest telephone-based taxi referral service. Consumers need only ring this toll-free phone number, from any phone, anywhere around the country, 24 hours a day to call for a taxi to safely take them home. Their call is automatically patched through to a taxi company in their local area who will then dispatch a cab to their location.
