NEW YORK, Jan. 10 -- Spike TV announced today that Carmen Electra will serve as host for AutoRox -- the first ever nationally televised Auto Awards Show honoring and celebrating America's passion for the automobile. The 90-minute show, to be taped on Saturday, January 22 at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, will air TUESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2005 (9:00-10:30pm ET/PT) on Spike TV. The star-studded homage to cars will feature categories including everything from the "The Ride of '05" to "The Speed Demon of '05."

AutoRox will feature a special performance by Detroit native and unabashed car lover, Kid Rock. Funkmaster Flex, host of Spike TV's Ride With Funkmaster Flex to be featured prominently throughout the show.

"AutoRox will celebrate the automobile as an icon and what it represents in this country -- freedom, style, speed, music, luxury and personality," said Albie Hecht, President Spike TV, and Executive Producer, AutoRox.

Inside Barker Hangar, the winning AutoRox cars will drive down specially designed internal roads to the stage to accept their award. AutoRox will also showcase winning cars on turntables (similar to Auto Shows) along with world television premieres of two new concept cars.

The nominees for AutoRox were decided by a prestigious and diverse panel of auto industry experts, journalists, and enthusiasts. The winners will be decided by online voting -- http://autorox.spiketv.com/.
