Plan Ahead for NAIAS 2005 Charity Preview Parking

DETROIT, Jan. 13, 2005 -- The 2005 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is strongly encouraging the estimated 17,500 people attending the sold-out black-tie Charity Preview on Friday, Jan. 14, to arrive early for parking convenience.

"The NAIAS and the City of Detroit are well-prepared for the night, but we encourage attendees to head downtown early," said NAIAS Senior Co-Chairman Bill Cook. "It's a great night for Detroit and for the charities, so we want to make sure things run as smoothly as possible."

The Millennium Garage, on Congress between First and Second streets is the recommended parking garage for individuals self-parking for the event. Drivers dropping guests off at Cobo must be properly credentialed through NAIAS. Any last minute calls for credentials should be directed to the NAIAS offices at (248) 643-0250. The Cobo Roof and all other access to Cobo Center will be closed to non-credentialed vehicles beginning at 7:45 p.m on Friday, Jan. 14th.

The 2005 show will open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 15, and run through Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005. Show hours are 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. through Jan. 22, and 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23. Admittance ends one hour prior to show closing.
