Toyota Exhibits at Auto Shanghai 2005; New Model Reiz and Lexus LX470 Appear Before Launch

Tokyo, Japan, Apr 21, 2005 - (JCN Newswire) - Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC; TSE: 7203) began showing a total of 23 vehicles today, including both production and concept vehicles, at Auto Shanghai 2005 (the Shanghai Motor Show), which is being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from April 21 to 28.

Under the theme "Advanced Technology and a Full Lineup", TMC is unveiling, for the first time in China, the following four vehicles:

1) Reiz - a new passenger model scheduled for production and sales in China from autumn this year 2) Lexus LX470 - a luxury SUV set for sale in China later this year 3) LF-A - a Lexus concept vehicle 4) i-unit - a single passenger concept vehicle that debuted at the TOYOTA GROUP PAVILION Performance Show of EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN (Mar. 25 - Sept. 25)

Other models on display include the Crown luxury sedan, which began production in China in March this year; the Prius hybrid vehicle, which is scheduled for eventual sales in China; and the locally produced Corolla, Vios, Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado and Terios models. The Lexus GS430 and GS300, both of which were launched in March, are also exhibited.

A further attraction is Toyota's Formula One racecar, which claimed second place in the 2005 FIA Formula One World Championship's Round 2 Grand Prix of Malaysia and Round 3 Grand Prix of Bahrain.
