Mercedes To Recall 61,000 C-Class Models

Here's some news C-Class owners won't be too excited to hear.

Today, Mercedes-Benz USA has announced that 61,000 Mercedes C-Class
are being recalled, due to irregularities involving the driver’s side
air bag which were discovered during government testing.

The recall affects 2005-2006 model year Mercedes C-Class. To remedy
the situation, vehicles will have new driver’s side air bag modules
installed as part of the recall.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said during
government compliance testing some irregularities were found
involving the air bags, however according to Mercedes-Benz spokesman
Rob Moran, Mercedes does not “feel this represents a risk in real-
world situations, only in this clinical situation.”

Either way, the cars are going back, which is bad news for Mercedes.
