Toyota Renews as Presenting Sponsor of 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.--May 23, 2006--Life Time Fitness, Inc. , a national operator of distinctive and large health and fitness centers, today announced that Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. has renewed its presenting sponsorship of the 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon.

To be held on Saturday, July 15, at 8:00 a.m. (CDT) on a stunning urban course through Minneapolis and St. Paul, the 2006 Life Time Fitness Triathlon offers a combined cash and prize purse valued at $500,000 - the largest in Olympic distance triathlons. First, introduced at the 2002 Life Time Fitness Triathlon, the event also features an innovative timing structure, which allows the world's top professional female and male triathletes to battle on equal ground for the first place prize - a combined cash and prize purse valued at $200,000.

As the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Presenting Sponsor, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. will award a 2006 Toyota Rav4 to the winner of the event while also highlighting the sport utility vehicle onsite.

The thrill and drama of the Life Time Fitness Triathlon will be aired nationally by NBC Sports during a 90-minute broadcast, Saturday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT).

"We set out to establish a world class endurance event that elevated the sport of triathlon," said John Reilly, Vice President, Corporate Businesses for Life Time Fitness. "Now in our fifth year, we have set a new bar for triathlon events and with the support of Toyota as presenting sponsor, expect to continue this tradition for the long term as the sport continues its dramatic growth."

"The Life Time Fitness Triathlon attracts just the kind of consumer we seek - active, educated and motivated, said Steve Jett, National Manager - Truck Advertising and Engagements Marketing "Toyota's decision to sign on again as presenting sponsor was an easy one."

A 'Battle of the Sexes' in the Making

Based upon past Life Time Fitness Triathlon course results, along with results from a number of international-distance events worldwide, the Life Time Fitness Triathlon's innovative timing structure allows the professional women to start ahead of the professional men by a predetermined amount of time, resulting in an exciting and dramatic race to the finish for the first-place $200,000 cash and prize purse.

In addition to the professional division, more than 2,500 amateur triathletes from around the world are expected to participate.

The Life Time Fitness Triathlon is a signature event of the Aquatennial, a premier, 67-year old community tradition in the Twin Cities.
