Honda Recalls 528,000 vehicles in China

BEIJING March 18, 2007; Japan Today reported that Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co will recall 528,000 automobiles in three models made by the Japanese automaker's Chinese joint venture in one of its largest recalls in China.

The models to be repaired free of charge are the Accord sedan, Fit compact car and the Odyssey minivan. The Accord recall, numbering 420,000, accounts for most of the vehicles. The affected sedans were made between January 2003 and December 2006. Guangzhou Honda said power steering fluid may leak if the sedan is used for a long period under high-temperature conditions, causing the steering system to degenerate.
