Shanghai. November 22 (Gasgoo.com) - German luxury car maker BMW AG plans to introduce its 2008 BMW 1 series to China, but not timetable was offered.

Lu Yi, vice president of BMW China, announced the plan without elaborating on details.

BMW has just unveiled its latest 1 Series at September's Frankfurt Motor Show, and two of BMW 1 series, the 128i and the 135i, will go on sale in North American early next spring. The 128i is equipped with the 230-horsepower, 200 pound-foot 3.0-liter with Valvetronic, and the 135i gets the twin-turbo 3.0 of course, good for 300 horsepower.

BMW 1 series will be priced somewhere between Mini Cooper and BMW 3 Series. In North America market, the 128i model is sold at around $26,000, and the 135i model is sold at about $5,000.

Earlier this week, BMW unveiled plans to add its new 6-Series to China portfolio and will sell the model at 1.07 million yuan ($144,670) in Chinese market.
