SPECIAL EVENT (DETROIT, MI.) - 2008 North American International Auto Show Racing Day

The NAIAS 2008 Racing Day, presented by Sprint, will arrive at the auto show on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Greg Biffle, IndyCar Series Drivers Marco Andretti and Tony Kanaan and American Le Mans Series Driver Bryan Herta. Now in its third year, NAIAS Racing Day offers horsepower-driven celebrity appearances and exciting on-site activities for race fans of all ages.

Drivers confirmed for autograph signings during NAIAS Racing Day are:

-- American Le Mans Series Driver Bryan Herta Jan. 25 - Michigan Hall

-- IndyCar Series Drivers Marco Andretti and Tony Kanaan Jan. 25 - Michigan Hall

-- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Greg Biffle Jan. 25 - Sprint Booth (located on Cobo Concourse)

"Racing Day is always a highlight of the NAIAS, and with drivers like these, 2008 will be a banner year for all motorsports fans," said Carl Galeana, senior co-chairman for the NAIAS 2008. "With so many racing enthusiasts in Michigan, surrounding states and Canada, we're excited to have driver appearances, driving simulators and other fantastic activities. Many more plans are coming together for NAIAS Racing Day, so we encourage fans to keep an eye out for more announcements in the coming weeks."

As the presenting sponsor, Sprint brings more unprecedented excitement to NAIAS 2008 Racing Day with a special interactive display that showcases four 3/4-scale racing simulators. Auto racing enthusiasts will get the chance to experience the feeling of a real-life race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series when they climb behind the wheel for a simulated race to the finish line. Attendees can also expect to walk away with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Sprint branded giveaways.

Other NAIAS 2008 Racing Day attractions will include show and classic race cars on the NAIAS show floor and Cobo concourse provided by the American Le Mans Series, the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, the IndyCar Series, and other participating automotive manufacturers. One attraction will include the No. 29 Shell sponsored Chevrolet Impala SS racecar driven by Daytona 500 2007 Winner Kevin Harvick, on display at the Shell booth located on the Cobo concourse during NAIAS 2008 Racing Day.

NAIAS 2008 Official Dates

Press Preview will be held Sunday, Jan. 13 through Tuesday, Jan. 15. Industry Preview will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16 and Thursday, Jan. 17. The annual black-tie Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 18. Public Days will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 through Sunday, Jan. 27.
