IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 14 -- Fisker Automotive, Inc., a green American premium sports car company, today announced that the company has received a second round of venture capital funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The multi-million dollar investment builds on the original venture capital funding from Palo Alto Investors. This announcement marks yet another significant investment in viable green technologies from the fund that recently welcomed Former Vice President Al Gore as a partner.

"Kleiner Perkins is a leader at identifying businesses that make sense for both the environment and investors," said Henrik Fisker, CEO, Fisker Automotive, Inc. "We are thrilled to have them as a partner as we look to lead the future of the automotive industry."

Fisker Automotive will offer a range of environmentally friendly premium cars -- with the first production car making its Worldwide North American debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. All models will feature cutting-edge plug-in hybrid technology penned as Q DRIVE, developed by Quantum Technologies (QTWW) exclusively for Fisker Automotive. This Q DRIVE design will offer consumers the ability to drive emission free for up to 50 miles a day provided the car is charged every evening. With more than 60% of Americans and Europeans currently driving less than 50 miles on their daily commute, driving a Fisker plug-in hybrid could see the fastest possible reduction both in oil consumption and emissions

"Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers are committed to investing in innovative companies that make financial and environmental sense," said Ray Lane, Managing Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. "We believe that Fisker Automotive's groundbreaking, forward-thinking design stands to pave the way for a greener and more efficient future."
