LONG BEACH, CA - September 17, 2008: When we last caught up with business entrepreneur/oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, we were covering the 2008 Alternative Fuels and Vehicles Conference four months ago in Las Vegas. At that time we were fortunate enough to listen to, and videotape, him talking about what America should do to combat the energy-fuel problem. Boone’s message, aided by Andrew Littlefair (CEO of Clean Energy), was a lively, thoughtful explanation of what’s wrong, and how to fix it. Little did we know that that presentation would be the precursor to the full-blown “Pickens Plan.”

After numerous appearances on virtually every major news television show and a multi-million dollar promotional effort to awaken America, Boone has had the opportunity to sit down with the two presidential candidates and discuss the issues and solutions, as he sees them.

This past Monday, at The Future Is Green Conference and Exposition in Long Beach, T. Boone Pickens presented another rousing, informative and humorous update to his plan, including the results of his personal pow-wows with John McCain and Barack Obama.

The Auto Channel was again fortunate to be on hand to videotape the entire presentation. We were the only media outlet at the event to capture the presentation. It seems that national security, economic well-being, and a solution to the energy-fuel crisis is only important to us (from a media perspective). As Boone Pickens says, “If you don’t have a plan, your plan is foreign oil.” So we guess that all of the other “automotive” websites think that foreign oil is the way to go.
