BRADENTON, Fla., Oct. 8, 2008 - GE Security, Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions , today announced its NavLogix GPS-based mobile management system is helping fleet owners across the United States save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in fuel and maintenance costs while increasing employee productivity by facilitating efficient vehicle scheduling, shortening routes between jobs and reducing unauthorized vehicle use by drivers.

GE Securitys NavLogix is designed to help businesses improve business practices by providing real-time analysis of when and where company vehicles are being used. Its GPS technology determines each vehicles location, while wireless communication relays additional data to a central server. Customers can view vehicle locations and routes using any Web browser and receive email alerts about after hours use or speeding vehicles.

California based Sebastian Enterprises, a provider of security and communication systems to residential and business customers, projects cost reductions of approximately $150,000 in 2008 after adding NavLogix to its fleet of 75 trucks. In addition, Kentucky Hauling, which transports asphalt and crushed stone, is also using NavLogix and has increased its operating efficiency of 56 vehicles by more than 10%. With the ability to better match resources to the needs of the job, Kentucky Hauling is saving thousands of dollars in fuel usage and vehicle expense.

Sebastian Enterprises and Kentucky Hauling have turned to NavLogix as a way to increase efficiency and decrease inappropriate use of fleet vehicles resulting in lower overall costs and higher profits, said Dean Seavers, president and CEO, GE Security. At a time when fuel and maintenance costs continue to soar, companies are looking for ways to lower expenses and NavLogix is an innovative solution that helps them do both.

GE Securitys NavLogix has become an essential business tool for Sebastian Enterprises. Weve enjoyed ROI of more than 400 percent, literally increasing our profits by thousands of dollars per vehicle, said Ron Cato, vice president of operations, Sebastian Enterprises. Our decision to install NavLogix has also led to higher customer satisfaction and reduced risk. I believe any security dealer that operates a fleet can profit from NavLogix.

NavLogix features a compact location monitoring unit with cellular and GPS antennas. Units can be installed in every vehicle in the fleet. Depending on the application, the unit can be mounted in a discreet location such as under the drivers seat or dashboard. Each unit connects to the vehicles power supply and goes into active mode whenever the vehicles ignition is turned on. On the road, GPS satellites communicate in real time with the onboard unit to determine the vehicles location, speed and direction.

The compact NavLogix location monitoring unit is easy to install and is also customizable. Generally, the unit transmits every five minutes once the ignition is on, but intervals can be set to whatever time users prefer. In addition, email alerts can also be configured.
