ATLANTA, GA. November 3, 2008: Porsche Cars North America Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States, today announced October sales in the United States of 1,427 compared to last years record-breaking October total of 2,862, a decrease of 50%.

For the first 10 months of calendar year 2008, Porsche sales are now 22,503 vs. 29,140 over the same period in 2007, off 23%.

The challenging sales environment in the car market, even for luxury brands, continues with Porsches October sales virtually on par with the 1,458 total in September of this year. Thanks to the recent introduction of its next-generation 2009 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models, Porsche sold 12% more 911 sports cars in October than in the month before (September 2008). Another model that didnt pay tribute to the continuing sales drought, especially in SUVs, was the Cayenne V6, which was 15% ahead of the previous month.

In addition, dealers sold 391 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned cars in October vs. 553 for the same period last year.
