TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – May 12, 2009: The fuel-efficient Honda Jazz (known as the ‘Fit’ in Japan) was the most popular car for the 2008 calendar year and the Japanese fiscal year ending 31 March, 2009.

Its success has continued in 2009, with the Fit being the biggest selling car for the months of January, February and March, only to lose its crown to another Honda, the all-new Insight in April.

The Honda Insight sold 10,481 units taking it to the number one position. This is the first time that Honda has occupied the industry’s two most popular vehicle positions in Japan.

In Australia, the Jazz continues to be one of the most popular light hatches, with almost YTD ten percent share, thanks to its performance, economy and versatility.
