BMW opens Asia's largest training center in Shanghai

Shanghai, May 12, 2009: (Gasgoo.com) BMW AG announced the opening of BMW Shanghai Training Center, the biggest BMW training center in Asia on Monday, reported Xinhua news agency.

The BMW Shanghai Training Center began construction in Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone on March, 2008. Investment on the project totaled 100 million yuan (US$14.6 million) in the first stage.

This is the second BMW Training Center in mainland China after the first was established in Beijing. Based on the curriculum at the BMW Beijing Training Center, the Shanghai Training Center has reserved place for body & paint training in connection with market demand, and has included "BMW Brand Academy" in its long-term plans.

Once in operation, the Shanghai Training Center will significantly increase the training capacity of BMW China to 13,000 man-days of technical training and 12,000 man-days of non-technical training per year.

"

BMW Group has been providing market-oriented training in sales and service in China's mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan since 1995. Now it operates six training centers and bases in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Nanjing, Chengdu and Guangzhou in mainland China.
