GREENVILLE, May 12, 2009: For vehicles from small compacts to minivans - and just about everything in between - the Uniroyal(r) Tiger Paw AS65 will provide exceptional handling in both wet and dry conditions, and it is backed by a 65,000 mile manufacturer's tread wear warranty.

"The AS65 gives value consumers exactly what they've been asking for in a tire - dependability, performance and long wear," said Kaz Holley, Uniroyal Tire Brand Director. "Between the center rib and the block placement, this is the most aggressive tire we've added to the Tiger Paw line. Our customers are sure to notice how well it handles in any road condition."

The new tire features Uniroyal's signature DuraShield(r) technology, which includes two heavy-duty polyester carcass plies to absorb impact and carry heavy loads, pyramidal belt construction with natural rubber encasing steel belts for greater durability as well as longer tread life. Also, heavy gauge liners provide added endurance, and insulating belt edge strips reduce heat at the belt edges.

The Tiger Paw AS65 also features an elongated sipe pattern that gives the tire extra grip on the road and manages heat buildup within the tire. The tread design, which includes a solid center rib and circumferential as well as lateral flow-through grooves, ensures even treadwear and affords the driver continuous water storage and evacuation for enhanced wet traction. This tire ensures reliable performance in all weather conditions along with a smooth, quiet ride.

The AS65 has a T speed rating. The tire will be released on June 1, and interested dealers should contact their account representative for further purchasing details.
