Baltimore County Partners With AutoReturn

SAN FRANCISCO--AutoReturn, a towing management and logistics company, today announced a new contract with Baltimore County, the largest jurisdiction in the Baltimore metropolitan area. AutoReturn was selected through a competitive bid process to improve towing services through the deployment of world class technology, people and practices. The implementation will decrease the administrative burden on the police department and reduce response times, placing officers back on the streets to protect the public.

Using its proprietary GPS-enabled technologies, AutoReturn will manage, track and report towed vehicles from dispatch through release or final disposition. AutoReturn’s towing management process allows citizens to find their vehicles faster and easier through a user-friendly Web search or an automated phone system, backed by a 24x7 service center.

"I am very pleased that Baltimore County will be working with AutoReturn to manage the county's accident towing operation," said James Johnson, police chief of Baltimore County. "Having AutoReturn assume this responsibility, will allow us to add officers to the street, making the citizens of Baltimore County safer as a result of this action."

AutoReturn is operating in the City and County of San Francisco and is in contract negotiations in other U.S. cities. AutoReturn has reduced tow response times in San Francisco to less than 13 minutes working with existing tow operators.

“We look forward to working with Baltimore County,” said John Wicker, chief executive officer at AutoReturn. “AutoReturn’s towing management solution will improve service levels, increase accountability and control and decrease costs to the County.”
