Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving Honored as a Top 100 Business in Chandler

CHANDLER, Ariz., June 24 -- The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving has been honored for its economic impact on Chandler, Ariz., by being named one of the city's top 100 businesses by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce.

The "Chandler 100" program recognizes key companies that have had a significant impact on the economic development of the city. The Bondurant School - one of the largest driving schools in North America featuring a 1.6 mile road course and an 8-acre asphalt skills pad for basic training - is located on the Gila River Indian Community outside of Phoenix, Ariz. The school has taught advanced driving skills to more than 250,000 students.

According to an economic impact study performed by Arizona State University, the Bondurant School attracted thousands of students in 2008, who reported expenditures of $528.60 per day during their stay in Phoenix, which includes lodging, meals, transportation, entertainment and retail. The Bondurant School relocated from California to Chandler in 1990, resulting in an estimated impact of $309.3 million to the city.

"The Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is proud to be an active member of the Chandler community," said Ken Thom, president and GM. "The school was founded not only to teach advanced driving skills, but also to give everyone from the aspiring racer to hobbyists and car lovers a chance at a life-changing experience. From our racing courses and karting school to our unique corporate events and team building programs, the Bondurant School leaves participants with a lasting, positive impression of both the school and the Chandler area."
