MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – February 22, 2010: BMW Group welcomes master chef George Calombaris as its latest brand ambassador.

Taking time out of the kitchen to drive the new BMW M3 convertible, Calombaris has chosen to excite his senses with BMW M Power, reflecting his appetite for uncompromised precision and excellence.

At just 31 years of age, Calombaris has been awarded a number of illustrious accolades.

In 2004, the Global Food and Wine Magazine voted him one of the Top 40 Chefs of Influence in the World and in 2008 he was voted “Chef of the Year” by The Age’s highly respected, Good Food Guide.

Calombaris is the mastermind and owner of three exclusive Melbourne restaurants including his flagship venue, The Press Club, with a fourth, St Katherines, set to open in October this year.

“BMW Group Australia is very excited to have George Calombaris on board”, says BMW managing director, Stavros Yallouridis.

“With his distinctive approach to both business and food, George shares and encompasses a number of BMW brand values including innovation, creativity and youthfulness”, says Yallouridis.

As a result of the brand partnership, customers will be treated to food prepared by Calombaris at key BMW events including model launches, the BMW Caulfield Cup and BMW Golf Cup.

“I’m certainly looking forward to a very close working relationship with BMW. I’ve always had the utmost respect for BMW as a brand and you can’t help but have complete admiration for their outstanding vehicles,” said George Calombaris.

“Having the opportunity to work with the world’s leading luxury vehicle supplier is definitely an honour,” says Calombaris.

George Calombaris can be seen on series two of Network Ten’s reality hit, MasterChef Australia, commencing in April this year.
