CHICAGO - June 30, 2010: For 2 1/2 days and nights - June 11-13 - an unexpected exhibit of micro & minicars added an element of surprise that brought immediate smiles and oohs and ahhs of sheer delight from the 5,000 passers-by, including 150 school children from the local grammar school. Even the iffy weather didn't keep the crowds away!

Eighteen cars from Chicago collections were exhibited on Sedgwick Street, along a full city block in Chicago's Old Town, during one of the neighborhood's busiest weekends of the year. Three other major festivals took place within 2 blocks of the exhibit: The 61st Annual Old Town Art Fair, The 35th Annual Wells Street Art Fair and The 26th Annual Party at St. Michael's Church. Combined, these festivals typically attract 50,000++.

The small car exhibit attracted a round-the-clock audience including young families, young couples, college students, older families, seniors, tourists and artists whose reactions were: "Gorgeous." "Wow!" "It looks like a mini bus that's smiling." "These are great!" "Thank you." "It has enough room for my beach gear and lunch. I love it!" "Reminds me of Get Smart." Even the security team, who were at their overnight posts on Friday and Saturday, delighted in the quality of the exhibit's visitors, regardless of the hour. Hundreds of night owls who encountered the exhibit in the wee hours were thrilled with the cars, voted for their favorites and received all of the exhibit handouts including flyers for the upcoming World Meet 2010 scheduled for the weekend of August 21-22 in Crystal Lake, IL.

During the course of the exhibit, 314 people, including children, voted for their favorite car. A People's Choice Award was presented on Saturday and Sunday with an overall winner declared at the end of the show on Sunday. Each car had an exhibit information sheet, event sticker and event number, just like a large auto Concours, so voters could be engaged in The Tres Petite Concours.

The next exhibit in the series of invitational events will be on July 17-18, 2010 in Chicago's DePaul University neighborhood of Lincoln Park, along the 900 block of historic West Armitage Avenue. Saturday Exhibit Day 11am-6pm and Sunday Exhibit Day 11am-4pm. Visit www.teenytinyproductions.com.
