Land Rover UK Sales Position - July 2010

GAYDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Aug 6, 2010: Land Rover sales in the UK for the month of July 2010 totalled 2,789, a significant 54 per cent up versus the same period last year. Sales for the year are also up in the Company's home market by 58 per cent year to date, with a total of 26,955 vehicles sold.

The Freelander 2 – which was recently crowned 'Best Compact SUV' at the Auto Express Car of the Year Awards 2010 – remains the largest volume seller with 914 vehicles sold in July, showing a 58 per cent improvement in the UK. The Range Rover Sport however was the month's strongest performer with sales up by 109% having sold 672 units.

The Discovery 4 – also a recent winner at the Auto Express Car of the Year Awards 2010 taking the title of 'Best Large SUV' – showed a continued improvement with sales totalling 600, 89 per cent better than the same period in 2009. The Discovery 4 has a class-leading breadth of capability and benefits from the powerful and highly-efficient 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel engine, a fresh exterior identity and more premium cabin.
