SYDNEY – Aug 31, 2010: Suzuki’s class leading Grand Vitara DDiS turbo-diesel has once again dominated the compact SUV section of the prestigious Overlander 4WD Awards, winning its third successive Best Small Wagon trophy.

Launched in 2008, the Grand Vitara DDiS has been without peer in the category, and was lavished with praise by the Overlander judging panel.

“If we were to have separate categories for small petrol and diesel wagons, the Grand Vitara would win both.

“The Grand Vitara DDiS is one of those vehicles that just does everything well. There’s no point in saying that the secret of the DDiS’s success is this or that; because it has so many ‘secrets’ that make it the great vehicle it is.

“This engine is willing and strong from very low engine speeds and makes light work of just about any driving situation. All the while the diesel is easy on fuel and well capable of fuel numbers in the 8 litres/100km range.

“Pleasing too, is the sharp handling chassis that makes the Grand Vitara such a fun vehicle to drive on the road.”

Suzuki Australia General Manager, Tony Devers, was proud of the Grand Vitara’s three-peat.

“We are delighted to win this highly coveted award, which confirms once again the Grand Vitara is the best compact SUV on the market.

“That’s the reason why the Grand Vitara has performed so well in awards like this, and why it continues to be one of our strongest sellers,” Devers said.
