VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – February 17, 2011: This Sunday 20th February, the Victorian Renault Car Club will be holding their annual Renault Round-Up at the Waterfront City Docklands. More than 80 vehicles are expected to line the boardwalk with Renault fans coming from across the state to attend the annual event

There will be a vast array of vehicles on display including the iconic and sporting Renault 8 Gordini, Renault 12 Gordini and Renault 17 Gordini, all of which were in among the sportiest cars of their generation through the 1960s and 1970s, as is the current model Clio Renault Sport Gordini, released in Australia in June 2010, which will be present alongside its famous ancestors.

Demonstrating Renault’s long and successful history in motorsport will be the Alpine A110, winner of the 1973 Monte Carlo Rally and World Rally Championship and its successor the Alpine A310, winner of the 1977 French Rally Championship.

Renault Sport will be well represented at the 2011 Renault Round-Up with Clio Renault Sport 172 through 200 models along with the Mégane Renault Sport 225 and 250 models. In addition, having recently announced their participation in the inaugural Red Bull Race Off at this year’s 2011 Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix, one of the Mégane Renault Sport 250s that will be competing in the unique race will be on hand.

Although the cars will definitely be the heroes of the day, Renault ambassador, Gabriel Gate, will be on hand to host a cooking demonstration between 11.30am and 12.30pm with some tasty French-inspired morsels for onlookers to sample. In addition, the 3-piece band, Boise et Chardon, will be performing between 9.30am and 11.30am.
