SANTA MONICA, Calif.--Feb. 18, 2011:General Motors and Chrysler are offering some of the most enticing national automotive deals this month as car buyers gear up for President's Day weekend, reports Edmunds.com's True Market Value Deals of the Month.

"Now that the auto industry is showing steady signs of recovery, the deals are not nearly as compelling as they had been in recent years."

GM's luxury Cadillac brand is offering $7,000 dealer cash on 2011 DTS and STS sedans. GM is also offering dealer cash incentives of $5,000 and $4,000 on 2011 Chevy Impalas and HHRs, respectively. All GM owners can cash in with $1,000 in loyalty incentives for any new 2011 GM car.

Seeking to capitalize on its sustained Super Bowl buzz, Chrysler is offering low financing or $750 cash back for the Chrysler 200. Eminem's new favorite car can be yours to own, too, with 0.0% APR for 36 months, 1.9% for 48 months, or 2.9% for 60 months.

"Now that the auto industry is showing steady signs of recovery, the deals are not nearly as compelling as they had been in recent years," said Jessica Caldwell, director of pricing and industry analysis at Edmunds.com. "Even so, Edmunds.com has been able to find some worthwhile cash-back and low-APR offers that consumers should consider before they buy or lease their next new car."

Other deals available to car buyers through the end of February include:

  • The 2010 smart fortwo pure coupe two-door hatchback, which is offering the lowest national lease deal for as little as $129 per month.
  • The Honda Civic, which is in sell-down mode as Honda prepares to release its all-new model this spring. Edmunds.com reports that the Civic's TMV is less than invoice in many cases. Honda also continues with strong lease deals in February for the Accord, Civic, Insight, Pilot and CR-V.
  • The Lexus HS, which has not enjoyed as much success as its Toyota Prius counterpart, is offering dealers $4,000 incentives on 2010 models.
