Granite Bay, CA--March 9, 2011: The local community is invited to help dedicate a renovated rield at Ronald Feist Park Lakeside in Granite Bay, California near Sacramento. Little Leaguers in Granite Bay will walk onto a completely renovated baseball field during the official unveiling on March 16 thanks to Chevrolet, the Scotts Company and a local woman who entered the league into a national contest. Coker-Ewing Field at Feist Park will be formally dedicated during the ceremony after becoming one of five youth baseball fields in the country to be renovated with major-league quality materials through the "Building Diamonds and Dreams" contest sponsored by Chevrolet and the Scotts Company. Marie Kennedy of Granite Bay entered Lakeside Little League into the contest "for fun" when she came across it online. The field dedication ceremony is open to the public.

The refurbishments focused on the aesthetics and playability of the field by providing major-league quality materials. The makeover included a reconstructed pitcher's mound, new infield skin, re-cut base paths, new home plate and bases, drainage installation, new coaches' boxes and other upgrades.  Renovations were completed in November by Ripken Design - the sports design and consulting firm owned by National Baseball Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr. and 12-year Major League Baseball veteran, Bill Ripken.Newly refurbished field First pitch thrown out by Lakeside Little League players.
