Local community invited to help dedicate renovated field at Arbuckle Acres Park

What :

Brownsburg Little Leaguers will play on a completely renovated baseball field on Monday, April 25 thanks to Chevrolet, The Scotts Company and a local man who entered the league in a national contest.

The field will be formally dedicated during the ceremony after being one of five youth baseball fields in the country to be renovated with Major League-quality materials through the "Building Diamonds and Dreams" contest sponsored by Chevrolet and The Scotts Company. The ceremony is open to the public . Local resident Joe Thomson entered the Brownsburg Little League in the contest because "Brownsburg has a rich baseball tradition. By providing our field makeover, Chevrolet, a company with its own long-standing baseball tradition, has provided a beautiful and safe field for my son, as well as future generations of Brownsburg baseball players." The Brownsburg Little League's history includes two recent Little League World Series appearances. It has produced collegiate and professional players including current Washington Nationals reliever Drew Storen.

Renovations were completed by Ripken Design, the sports design and consulting firm owned by Cal Ripken, Jr., member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and 12-year Major League Baseball veteran Bill Ripken. "I am thrilled that Ripken Design has partnered with Chevrolet on this wonderful campaign that will benefit so many youth baseball and softball players in Brownsburg and other communities across the country," said Cal Ripken, Jr. Products from The Scotts Company were used for the field refurbishment. Scotts is the Official Lawn Care Company of Major League Baseball®.
