WASHINGTON, May 10, 2011 The Diesel Technology Forum (DTF) is pleased to announce that Dow Automotive Systems has joined the Forum, a non-profit association that promotes the use of the most advanced clean diesel engines, fuel and technology in the United States.
"Dow Automotive System's success in increasing energy efficiency in automobiles and large commercial trucks while also reducing exhaust emissions has contributed significantly to the growing improvements in today's clean diesel technology," said Allen Schaeffer, the Executive Director of DTF.
"Dow has also developed the AERIFY diesel particulate filter which reduces diesel particulate emissions by up to 99 percent with very low back pressure. The technology's performance and design enables a more compact footprint that helps achieve important goals of lower cost clean diesel technology in smaller spaces; important in all applications of clean diesel including the off-road segment which is now beginning to meet near zero EPA emission levels known as Tier 4.

That a diesel-powered car could win those hallmark races and do it with particulate filters really helped shift mindsets about the future for diesel technology, a clear demonstration of the AERIFY technology's ability to further enhance efficiency and performance in clean commercial diesel applications.
